or final semester grades wirelessly! Our new
service, SISCell, enables students to view some of
their student information via a cell phone web
browser. This system uses the latest 'WAP'
technology to offer a convenient complement to SISOnline. It was specifically designed to be simple
and easy to use on a handheld device. Any student
who has access to SISOnline is a authorized to use
SISCell.

What is SISCell? |
 Think
of SISCell as a mini version of SISOnline. It is a
website with just a few simple services that has been
specifically designed to be browsed wirelessly with a
cell phone. It provides you with view access to your
schedule, grades, account balance, and any holds that
may be on your record. Anytime, anywhere, you can use your web
enabled cell phone or handheld device, you can login to
SISCell.
The data on SISCell
is delivered in real time and is as up to date as
SISOnline. |

What do I need to use SISCell? |
| You
need a web enabled cell phone with web browsing service;
commonly called 'WAP enabled'. Most newer cell phones are
capable of browsing the web, but web access is
generally a premium service offered by your cell
provider. SISCell is of course free to use, however your
cell provider may charge a monthly or per minute fee for
general web access. Simply, if you are able to browse
the web on your cell phone, you can access SISCell.
Simply use your SIS ID and PIN just as you would with
SIS Online. |

How do I
access SISCell? |
| If
you are already browsing websites on your cell phone then
you'll have no problem using SISCell. You simply browse
to
http://wap.aseonline.tufts.edu and login using your
SISOnline ID and password. If you have access to
SISOnline, you will have access to SISCell.
If you do
not have a cell phone with a WAP browser, the first place
to start is with you cell phone provider (such as
Cingular, Verizon,T-Mobile). Each company has a
different selection of phones and a unique procedure for
enabling web access. Once you are comfortable navigating
the web on your phone you will have no problem using
SISCell. |

What kind of help is available? |
| The
SISCell system is so easy to use, once you master cell
phone browsing, that it is unlikely that you will have
problems with the system itself. The best way to report
problems is submit our online
questionnaire and describe your experience. This a
new service so this feedback is critical to developing
our ability to support this service in the future.

SISOnline, if you have user id or password issues,
please contact the Student Services Desk at
617-627-2000.
Unfortunately each cell phone and cell service provider
operates differently, so we can not help you with
general web access issues on your particular phone. Your
cell phone provider should be able to help you
establish web access and get you started browsing. |

*Please Note: The SISCell url (https://wap.aseonline.tufts.edu)
cannot be browsed on your computer like a typical
website. If you try to browse SISCell using Internet
Explorer or FireFox(Mozilla), you will encounter errors.
This website is designed to be used on a special kind of
web browser made particularly for cell phones called a 'WAP'
browser. However, the free browser
Opera does support WAP
sites and is capable of browsing SIScell.
