Abstract

This panel session will feature effective strategies for assessing the impact of student services.   Case studies from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Louisiana State University will be presented. Specific measurement tools and methods communicating outcome data will be shared.

Biographical Information

Cynthia M. Hadden, Director, Enterprise Solutions Group , B.S., Biochemistry, 1981; M.S., Systems Science, 1985; Ph.D., Kinesiology, 1998

Cindy Hadden began her career at LSU in 1981.  She currently serves as Director of the Enterprise Solutions Group.  She has comprehensive experience in the management of information systems development, specializing in large systems, web applications and system integration, with responsibility for 40 analysts, 50 large-scale information systems and 10,000 programs.  Dr. Hadden has received two Chancellor’s Commendation awards.  She has also co-written three papers that have been awarded a CUMREC Best Paper award.  In 2000, the PAWS application developed by Enterprise Solutions was recognized with the EDUCAUSE award for Exemplary Practices.

Jim Black, Associate Provost for Enrollment Services, Doctoral course work in Higher Education Administration, a MED in Student Personnel Services, and a BA in English Education

Jim led three institutions to dramatic improvements in student enrollment. He has been a consultant for fifteen schools in the US and Canada as well as two national organizations. He is the Director of AACRAO’s Strategic Enrollment Management Conference and Founder of the National Small College Admissions, Retention, and Enrollment conferences. He has presented and written broadly on topics such as strategic enrollment management, student services, retention, marketing, recruitment, organizational change, and leadership. Jim has been featured in a number of professional publications such as the Enrollment Management Report and Lawylor Review.
