highest in the nation, as the national retention rate is
55% of enrolled students graduating in six years. How large are classes?
The average class size at Tufts is approximately 20
students. 70% of classes have 21 or fewer students and
only 2% of the classes have over 100 students. Students
in large classes usually meet twice a week for lecture
and once a week in a small review session that provides
a forum for questions and discussion. What is the student/faculty ratio?
The student/total faculty ratio is 8/1. There are 411
full time and 282 part time faculty members in the two
undergraduate colleges. What is Greek life like on campus?
On campus, there are 10 fraternity houses, 3 sorority
